Nigerian entertainers now easily recognised in America –Olaoye

States of America-based singer and music promoter, Anthony Olaoye, has said that citizens and residents of the United States of America now easily recognise Nigerians because of their music style and ways of life.

In an interview with , the Ekiti State-born entertainer said, “People in the United States of America usually recognise Nigerian entertainers with their traditional music, mode of dressing and lifestyle.”

Speaking on the challenges he faces at this stage of his career, Olaiya, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Olantech Global Promotions, said, “One major challenge we are facing in the US is due to the short summer we have, compared to the African summer which is practically the whole year round.

“Also, the COVID-19 pandemic has really affected our promotions worldwide but we thank God that we are still alive. We organised three concerts in Nigeria and Ghana between April and May, 2020. However, they were all cancelled because of the pandemic.”

Reeling out the names of prominent entertainers he has worked with, Olaoye said, “I specialise in music promotions as well as rental of music instruments, DJ equipment, gift items, cars, hall rentals and lights to people for events. I have also organised concerts that featured Remi Aluko, Pasuma, Muri Thunder, Ishola Kekere Awori, Saheed Osupa, Senator Akanbi, Dasola Olajire, Taye Cellular, ‘Wale’ Tekoma and others. My advice to promoters and entertainers is that we all need to work together and be united, at home and abroad. It would be to our ultimate benefit.”
