United States of America-based afrobeats singer, Otu Ukam, aka Reckon, has said that he aims to bring people together with his music.
Speaking about his latest single titled, , he told , “My new single titled, , is a song that people can use to renew their faith and hope for 2024. I released the song to encourage people, and let them know that good news and everything they’ve been praying for is on the way. All they have to do is just ‘believe’ that it is going to happen.
Asked about his greatest inspiration as an artiste, Reckon said, “The people I have inspired with my music are my greatest achievements, and that makes me happy. As an artiste, I want to use my voice and music to bring people together. Fela Anikulapo-Kuti also has an influence on me. I love his music and his boldness; he used his voice to speak for the people that could not speak for themselves.”
When speaking on his style in music, he noted that he is not after fame but he is out to pass a message through his music and that is what differentiates him from the crowd in the industry.
The singer went on to say that he was not into music for the sake of fame and money. According to him, “My music is all about passing out messages; things that people can relate to. There is so much going on in the world, and that is why I use my voice and music to encourage people and make them happy.”
