Coach John Keister says his Leone Stars has all it takes to get a point off Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Freetown on Matchday 5 of the 2023 AFCON qualifier billed for June.

Recall the Leone Stars lost the first leg played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, 2-1, after taking the lead in the opening 10 minutes.

Speaking briefly after the Leone Stars defeated Sao Tome and Principe 2-0 on Monday.

“I was pleased, but we now have to remain focused ahead of our remaining games against Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau.”

“The performance from every player was much better than the first leg. We knew we had to change a few things to secure maximum results.

“There is plenty of work to be done ahead of the games against Nigeria and Bissau. Difficult games, but we have to fight to compete in the AFCON next year.”

Goals from Abubakar Samura and Alhassan Koroma was enough after their much-improved tactic in the 2-0 win over Sao Tome on Sunday at the Agadir Stadium in Morocco.

Sierra Leone moved to third, two points behind Guinea-Bissau and four points short of leaders Nigeria who garnered 9 points from the victory in Bissau.
