Matawalle’s aide challenges governor’s accusers to come up with facts

The Special Adviser to Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State on Media and Publicity Affairs, Zailani Bappa has described the increasing trend of allegations against the governor as reckless accusations by disgruntled elements in the state.

He said the governor’s accusers range from disadvantaged politicians seeking political relevance and some so-called professional organisations seeking for recognization, by all means, saying that due to the open-door policy of the Governor to allow democracy prevail, some individuals and groups are manipulating the freedom to rubbish his name.

“It must be stated here that democracy and freedom of speech are sacrosanct but in no way a ticket to abuse the institution of authority with slander and libel”

“Every person or organisation with grudges against any misdeed must follow due process in seeking redress by reporting any matter to the security operatives and approaching the court of law for redress based on investigation outcome”

“Hence, such persons or groups must no longer come to the public and accuse the chief security officer of the state or his administration with baseless innuendos”

”We hereby draw the attention of all persons and organisations to henceforth, be cautious of being indiscriminate by directly accusing the Governor as the law will take its course on any further slander of libel against His Excellency”
