The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 50 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers and murderers. Seven victims were rescued and sophisticated weapons recovered from the hideouts of the suspects.

Commissioner of Police, Mr Yekinni Ayoku, said: “Police raided hideouts of terrorists to chase them out of the forest. The efforts yielded positive results when they engaged some armed bandits along the Galadimawa-Kidandan Road, Giwa Local Government. They shot five dead and recovered AK47 rifle, locally fabricated long range revolvers with the 12 polymer cased cartridges and one motorcycle.

“Police operatives also killed four notorious bandits. They were intercepted on the Samimaka-Jos Expressway in a Sharon vehicle, blue in colour, driven by one Jane. The suspected bandits realised the unavoidable danger posed in the highway with their dangerous weapons.

He appreciated the support of other sister agencies and members of the public for the information made available to police to flush out bandits from the state: “We want the public to always be at alert.

“Whenever they see a strange thing or person in their environs to inform the police immediately.
