scoring his third hat trick for Gent in their 4-0 victory over Cercle Brugge on Saturday, Nigerian striker Gift Orban boasted that he lives for goals, adding that he is hungry for more, reports.

The 21-year-old has been nothing short of exceptional following his €3.5m transfer from Norwegian club Stabaek to Gent in January.

Orban’s outstanding display has seen him score 19 goals and registered two assists in 19 appearances for Gent, helping them to the league’s playoffs where he found the back of the net on five occasions in three games.

Having scored two goals in their previous two games, the forward was on the rampage again on Saturday as he scored a hattrick to spur Gent to a resounding victory over Cercle Brugge at the Jan Breydel Stadium.

It was the Buffaloes’ third game of the Jupiler League playoffs and the Nigerian superlative form has seen them claim victories from all their three games.

Speaking with the club media team following his impressive display, Orban said he was far from satisfied with his performance.

“Every match is important to me. Three goals are not enough for me, I want more. But every striker just wants to score. I live for goals,” Orban told Gent media.”

Orban holds the record for the fastest hat trick ever witnessed in a UEFA club competition after scoring three goals within the space of just 205 seconds against Istanbul Basaksehir in March.
