Fans excited as Gulder Ultimate Search enters full swing

Fans of the popular reality television show, Gulder Ultimate Search, have shown their excitement as the show has found its way to the airwaves after it had been on hiatus for over a decade.

The popular reality television show borders on the survival instinct of its 18 contestants. These contestants are taken into the jungle to test their survival skills. They are also given tasks by their taskmaster, Kunle Remi. Those who complete the task move to the next stage while those who don’t are booted out of the jungle.

Expressing excitement about the return of the show, many of its fans took to their social media platforms, especially Twitter to air their opinion. So far, the show trends at number five on the Nigerian Twitter space.

Speaking about the show, the Twitter user, @NenChaCee wrote, “Lol, these ones came with gbas gbos on night 1. By now BBN peeps would still be doing love & light. Abi is it the limited food & frustration from building the shelter? #GulderUltimateSearch.”(sic)

A Twitter user, @omo_odedina noted that last night’s episode was ‘interesting and drama-filled.’ She tweeted, “It was an interesting and drama-filled first night in the jungle. Remember to tune in tomorrow at 8pm. #GulderUltimateSearch.”(sic)

Vanessa Ohaha via her Twitter handle, @Vanessa_ohaha, opines that this year’s contestants have it easy for them, unlike previous contestants.

She tweeted, “So even with the structure that they gave these people, to build this hut is still a struggle? OGs were building from scratch, clearing grass, doing plan for the cooking area and ‘lounge’. These ones are not ready. #GulderUltimateSearch.” (sic)

Moreso, another user of the microblogging platform, @AlexaMirage expressed disgust at the action of one of the contestants, Omoya.

The Twitter user wrote, “Omoya is a fool. Didn’t like him at first sight and my instincts were right. How can you be peeping while the girls were bathing? So you couldn’t get water at any other time? Rubbish. #GulderUltimateSearch.”

However, it is not only the contestants that enjoyed the spotlight as lovers of the show have elicited mixed reactions over the performance of the show’s host, Toke Makinwa.

Makinwa is the first female host of the survival-based reality television show. While some believe that she did a splendid job, others believe there is room for improvement.

For instance, Cecilia Eneh via her Twitter handle gave Makinwa a thumbs up. She tweeted, “Toke doing what she knows how to do… I love what am seeing on my screen now. Kudos @tokstarr #gulderultimatesearch.”(sic)

Similarly, Opelia Idiami Ezeh via her handle @Opelia_Ezeh tweeted, “Great seeing the #gulderultimatesearch back on screen. @tokstarr giving it a topnotch anchoring just that her looks don’t look consistent with the jungle life!”

But Nwanyî ömá from the East with the handle, @Kyler_cox3 via his tweet has expressed a different opinion about Makinwa being the host for the show.

He tweeted, “Gulder Ultimate Search goofed big time by using Toke Makinwa as the anchor for the show. What happened to the likes of Chidi Mokeme or Bob-Manuel?”
