Former Edo deputy governor, Lucky Imasuen was not so lucky Saturday at the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary for Edo South.
He lost the ticket to a businessman, Mr Valentine Asuen.
Asuen polled 215 votes to defeat Imasuen who got 160 votes at the party primary held in Benin.
Imasuen garnered 160 votes while four were voided.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that 379 delegates from seven local government areas participated in the voting amid tight security.
While Asuen was the former state APC youth leader, Imasuen served as deputy governor to short-lived Gov. Osariemen Osunbor’s administration between 2007 and 2008.
