Arsenal legend Ray ParlourRay Parlour said that he was happy to watch Manchester City beaten by Tottenham at the Etihad on Saturday as it blew the title race wide open.
Antonio Conte’s side shocked Pep Guardiola’s high flying Manchester City in front of their home fans on Saturday with a 3-2 victory thanks to two Harry Kane goals.
Having thrashed Norwich City 3-1 in an earlier game, Liverpool closed the gap at the top of the table to just six points, with Jurgen Klopp’s side crucially having a game in hand.
Parlour admitted that Conte’s side put in the performance of the weekend.
“I don’t think anybody gave them[Tottenham]any chance of getting anything,” Parlour told talkSPORT.
“To score three goals away at Man City was amazing. That was the performance of the weekend.
“I know Watford won and that was a good result, Burnley going to Brighton, but you have to say Spurs going to Man City.
“I’m pleased, in a way, because I want the title race to keep going. The more it goes on and Man City keep winning and you think will Liverpool slip up.
“Suddenly, it’s going to be really interesting. That Liverpool vs Man City game in April could be the crunch game.”
