The Public Service Staff Development Centre converged on Tuesday to honour the retired Director of Public Affairs of the centre, Mr Oladiran Ajetunmobi, who bowed out after 35 years in the civil service.

The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola, while addressing associates, family members, friends, and colleagues of the retiree at an event organised by the PSSDC, affirmed that Ajetunmobi used his entire service years to impact public service and humanity.

Muri-Okunola, who spoke through the Director of the Post-service Department at the Public Service office, Mrs Bukola Durodola, stated that the retired director facilitated several capacity-building sessions for low, middle, and high-cadre civil servants and public office holders.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the state’s Civil Service Commission, Mrs Olubunmi Fabanwo, said the professionalism displayed by the retired director and others at PSSDC exemplified what an ideal capacity-building institution like PSSDC should be.

They unanimously described Ajetunmobi as a quintessential, diligent, and focused civil servant who derives pleasure in the growth of others by deliberately making himself available for assistance.

The current Director-General of the centre, Mr Adekunmilola Adio-Moses, advised Ajetunmobi to remain connected with the centre as a family while assuring him that his retirement would provide him with several opportunities.
