President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Engr Mustafa Balarabe Shehu on his election as President-elect, World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO).
The 59-year-old outgoing Vice President was formerly President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
The President hailed the overwhelming endorsement of the Kano indigene by the members of the body at the World Engineering summit in Costa Rica.
He called it “a testament to his passion for the field of human endeavour as well as his dedication towards ensuring a better lease of life for Nigerians especially rural dwellers”.
Buhari urged him to use his wealth of experience and contacts to address issues bedeviling the profession in the country.
The nation’s leader pointed out collapsed buildings and improvement in the energy sector.
“He wishes the accomplished and multiple award-winning Electrical Engineer a successful tenure”, presidential spokesman Femi Adesina noted.
