The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has sent birthday wishes to one-time Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Halilu Usman, who now serves as the Osu Ajiri, Edege Chiefdom in Nasarawa State, as he marks his 80th year.

Buhari’s goodwill message is contained in a statement signed on Sunday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, titled ‘President Buhari greets Halilu Usman, Ex-Deputy Governor as he marks 80 years.’

The statement read, “The President recalls the meritorious service rendered by Usman as an administrator in the local government system; serving the state at different levels including the Chairmanship of the Plateau State Local Government Service Board as well as the Pension Board, and at the centre, serving as Director, Training and Manpower Development at the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, and later as Chairman of the National Program of Immunization, NPI.”
