President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, on his 89th birthday.
The diplomat who clocks 89 on Tuesday according to the president stands out with his contributions to Nigeria and the international community.
Buhari in a statement on Monday signed by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity affirmed that Anyaoku has consistently followed and projected the wellbeing of Nigeria.
He said the international diplomat worked assiduously to build his local community and stayed vocal in counseling leaders on way forward.
Buhari extolled the 89-year-old for his foresight, courage and diligence in pursuing his vision for a more just and peaceful world.
The president prayed that the Almighty God will continue to strengthen the renowned international diplomat and his family.
