Bayelsa records late arrival of electoral officers, materials

Accreditation of voters had not started as of 8:48am at some polling units in Yenagoa LGA of Bayelsa State.

Some of them are polling units 1 and 2, Atissa Ward 4; Fakulu Primary School, Epie Ward 3.

Our correspondent observed that sensitive materials were still being distributed from the RAC Atissa 1, Ward 1 to the polling units in the area as of 8:33am.

Also, Independent National Electoral Commission officials and electoral materials were yet to arrive at some polling units while few voters and observers were seen waiting amidst tight security by policemen.

Policemen and soldiers also mounted checkpoints at sections of the deserted Mbiama-Yenagoa Road and the Isaac Boro Expressway in the Bayelsa State capital.
