Arsenal dump Newcastle to keep title hope alive

Must Read

Arsenal have beating Newcastle 0-2 away from home to keep title hope alive, cutting Manchester City’s lead at the top by a point.

The Gunners were expected to have a stiffer challenge from high-flying Newcastle, but they managed to squeeze two goals past the homers.

The Gunners opened scoring on 14 minutes after a nice piece of skill by Martin Odegaard. He perfectly collected a pass from Jorginho and unleashed a fantastic long-range strike which went inside the right post.

Earlier, Jacob Murphy had a good opportunity when he latched on to a cross from the wing, but his strike from the penalty spot was not accurate enough and the ball bounced away off the left post.

An own goal by Fabian Schar gave Arsenal the second goal on 71 minutes. He deflected the ball past his own goalkeeper and into the goal after trying to jump in the way of a shot.
