1.6 million Nigerians abroad ready to vote Tinubu

Must Read

The Diaspora Director of All Progressives Congress Campaign Council, Ade Omole, has expressed confidence about the victory of the party presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, saying over 1.6 million Nigerians living abroad would be coming into the country to vote on Saturday.

Omole disclosed this during a parley with journalists at the national headquarters of the APC in Abuja on Monday.

The PCC director was in the news recently when he disowned a viral video of branded wine being circulated on social media.

In the 57 seconds clip, a male voice touted to be a member of Tinubu’s camp in the Diaspora, could be heard saying the exotic bottles of wine branded with the emblem of ‘APC Committee of Diaspora Chairmen’ and packaged in several customised cartons are ready for shipment to Abuja.

The show of opulence at a time many Nigerians are struggling with the lingering fuel crisis and naira scarcity resulted in a backlash, leading to a barrage of verbal attack from many social media users.

The Diaspora director had expressed outrage over the claim, saying his directorate knows nothing about the video.

A different Omole, however, told journalists in Abuja on Monday that his principal is head and shoulder above other candidates, his chances are bright from all the indices he has seen.

He said, “I strongly believe that by 6.00 pm on Saturday, February 25, we will be celebrating the election. Remember we can actually view the result in real time online. INEC may still take their time because they have to do the collation obviously officially.

“But I strongly believe that this election would be done and dusted by 6pm. Why did I say that?

“As I mentioned earlier, you need to see feedback reports from the people. We were at the flag off in Jos. I was in Kano and Minna. I was also in Borno.

“You need to see the response from Nigerians. They just can’t wait. I don’t see any run-off in this election and I believe that by 6.00 pm, we will be done and dusted.

“Obviously, our principal is head and shoulder above any other person out there and Nigerians have actually responded well. I’m sure that they will come out en masse to vote for him.

“Not all the all 1.6 millions Nigerians in diaspora with PVCs would surely come in but at least some of them are here and they are all voting for our principal, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“Probably on Monday, we would be back here and I’m going to refer to this day that I said that we will be done by 6.00 pm.”
