Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, on Friday revealed why he launched verbal attacks on former Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih.
Oshiomhole said he experienced “godfatherism in its most brutal form” in the hands of Chief Anenih.
The governor spoke when some PDP members led by the party’s former woman leader in the state, Barr. Lucy Omgban, defected to the Action Congress of Nigeria.
Oshiomhole said Chief Anenih delayed his administration’s performance for one year when the then PDP led State Assembly refused to pass the 2009 budget.
He said, “Anenih was a man who was not elected, but approved my first budget. He deleted money meant for the purchase of buses, building of schools and other infrastructural development from the budget.
“If I didn’t fight then my God has fought for me. It is the hand of God that is working in the state,” the governor added.
Oshiomhole noted that if Chief Anenih had known that PDP fortunes in the state would diminish, he would not have de-registered people from the party.
