Head Coach of Nigeria’s U20 men’s football team (Flying Eagles), Manu Garba has said the team’s target is to win all its matches at the forth-coming FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
While speaking from the team’s camp in Germany on Sunday, Manu maintained that: “We’re not just aiming at the cup, but we want to win every match and by so doing, the cup will be ours.”
He said the team boasts the most deadly attack amongst the teams that will take part in the championship, insisting that: “It will be difficult to get an attack that will be as deadly as that of Nigeria.”
The championship is slated for 30th May to 20th June in New Zealand and Nigeria will be up against Brazil, North Korea and Hungary in Group E.
The U20 team’s attack has been impressive in performance going into the championship with Taiwo Awoniyi alone scoring six goals in his 80 minutes involvement in the friendly matches against Hoffenheim U23 and Nurnberg U19.
The team scored a total of 14 goals in the three friendly games which also included the U23 team of SC Freiburg.
But the gaffer said the inclusion of Isaac Success (Granada), Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City and Moses Simon of Gent in the team has made the team even stronger going forward.
