Former chairmen elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kogi State have described as signifying victory, the emergence of Captain Idris Wada as the standard bearer of the PDP in the November 21governorship election in the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the former chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Aloysius Okino, saying that the overwhelming votes Wada got during the election was an indication of his popularity and the support he enjoys from vast majority of members of PDP who share his vision for Kogi State.
The group congratulated the party’s National working Committee, NWC, for a job well done in conducting what it described as transparent, free, fair, credible and a well organised primary, which it said confirmed the leadership position of PDP in the Nigerian polity.
Affirming their resolve to work very hard for the victory of Wada and indeed that of the party in the governorship election, they group called on the members of the party at all levels to embrace and rally round the governor and leader of the party, so as to deliver a resounding victory for the party.
