Tragedy struck on Thursday when three suspected vandals of a pipeline station and a security man of New Age Global security outfit belonging to the founder of Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Dr Fredrick Faseun, were burnt to death at a pipeline point close to Sagamu/ Ibadan Expressway.

Sunday Tribune gathered that tragedy struck when the New Age security men attached to the station were pursuing the vandals who came in a Sienna Space bus to scoop fuel from an already punctured pipeline.

In a bid to escape from the security men, the driver of the vehicle put on the ignition of the car which suddenly ignited fire that spread to all the surrounding bushes and the expanse of land already soaked in fuel.

The vandals and a security man who held on to one of the them to prevent him from escaping got caught up in the inferno, which killed all of them instantly.

According to an eye witness, the vandals and the security man were badly burnt by the fire.

As of the time of filing this report, the security company was already making efforts to retrieve the body of their dead member for proper burial.

It will be recalled that the same security outfit, on April 28, 2015 after taking over the monitoring of the pipeline station at Mosinmi in Ogun State caught two vandals while attempting to make away with 750 litres of plastic kegs already loaded in a vehicle.

The various arrests had been commended by members of the public who argued that while the pipeline stations were under the surveillance of the government security agents, not much achievements were made.
