President Muhammadu Buhari has approved that the Governing Councils of Federal Universities be exempted, for the time being, from the dissolution of Boards of Federal Government parastatals, agencies, institutions and government-owned companies announced on July 16, 2015.President-Muhammadu-Buhari

Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity made this known in a statement Saturday.

He added that all Vice Chancellors of Federal Universities have been informed of this exemption through a circular issued by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mr. Danladi Kifasi.

President Muhammadu Buhari has dissolved the board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) with immediate effect.Buhari

The directive to this effect was conveyed in a letter signed today, 26th June, 2015 by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi. In it, the President thanked members of the dissolved board for their services to the nation.

The Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HOS) Mr Danladi Kifasi yesterday debunked claims that the federal government plans to sack federal workers that have served 30 years and above.

Civil servants are expected to serve 35 years in service before retirement or retire if they reach the age of 60, whichever comes first.
