Blast destroys six vehicles at Abuja night club
by ADELANI ADEPEGBA with Agency Reports
The blast which occurred around 11:30pm, also shattered the glass windows of nearby buildings and threw residents into panic.

No casualty was recorded and the club which was believed to have been the target was not affected by the blast.
The Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police, Adenrele Shinaba, told journalists at the scene that the device was thrown from a vehicle in motion.
He added that no arrest had been made.
The CP did not say the type of explosive used. “I am not a bomb expert,’’ he retorted.
He, however, said men of the Explosive Ordnance Department of the police had commenced investigation into the matter and that they would reveal the type of explosives used and the motive of those behind the explosion.
Shards of glasses littered the scene but the affected vehicles had been taken away before our correspondent got there on Saturday morning.
Shinaba assured residents of the FCT of police preparedness to contain any threat to law and order just as he urged the public to assist law enforcement agencies with credible information that could help them.
The manager of the club, Alex Zanator, told SUNDAY PUNCH that no patron of the club was injured by the blast which was thrown at vehicles parked across the building.
He explained, “Nobody was injured by the explosion and the club continued its operation some minutes after the blast. We are collaborating with security agencies to protect our club members and we have no plans to stop our business on account of the incident.”
