GUNMEN suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect yesterday launched two separate attacks on the residence of a retired civil servant, Mallam Shettima Chibok, in Bulunkutu ward of Maiduguri, Borno State capital and a beer parlour in Damaturu, Yobe State capital, killing Chibok and five people and injuring six others at the beer parlour.
The gunmen, according to Joint Task Force (JTF) in Maiduguri, also abducted Chibok’s two children aged 10 and seven after shooting him dead in the presence of his wife at 1.00 p.m. on Wednesday.

He, however, said two of the gunmen escaped, abandoning the tricycle they used in attacking and killing Chibok.
