A former member of the Buhari Support Group (BSG), Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Binji, Sunday called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to reallocate the N 971 billion earmarked by the Federal Government for petroleum subsidy in 2015, to the 774 local government areas in the country.
Addressing newsmen in Sokoto Sunday, Binji said if the money earmarked for the subsidy for this year would be chanelled to the local government councils, each of them would get an additional 70 per cent of their average monthly allocations from the federation account.
According to him, such additional funds could be used by the local government areas to execute more people-oriented development projects.
He said a breakdown of the N 971 billion earmarked by the federal government for the subsidy in 2015 showed that the figure stood at over N 80 billion monthly.
