Oyo State Police Command yesterday dared the two wanted leaders of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state, Alhaji Lateef Akinsola (aka Tokyo); and Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi (aka Auxiliary), to show up in public and face arrest. The state Police Commissioner, Tambari Yabo Muhammad, while speaking with journalists after a closed door meeting with other security chiefs in the state, said the two leaders of the drivers’ union still remained on the wanted list and vowed to get them arrested.
Members of the Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) have endorsed the candidature of the Managing Editor of The Nation Newspaper, Alhaji Waheed Odusile, for the post of Deputy National President of the union. At its congress on recently, practising journalists in the state overwhelming voted for the trio of Odusile, President of the NUJ, Mallam Garba Muhammed, and the Secretary of the G-zone, Mr. Adolphus Okonkwo, as official candidates of the state council in the forthcoming Triennial Delegates Conference of the union billed for May 24 to May 27, in Abuja
