Abia State Governor Chief Theodore Orji, yesterday congratulated Ms. Ijeoma Nwogwugwu, on her appointment as the Editor of THISDAY Newspaper and Mr. Nduka Nwosu, as the Bureau Chief of the Newspaper in the United States of America.
In a statement yesterday by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Ugochukwu Emezue, Orji said he was proud of the duo who are Abians. The governor who was highly elated on this appointment, maintained that Abia paraded great potentials in all sectors that were capable of making positive impact when given the opportunity.
He said a look at the record of Abians in authority in Nigeria and beyond, showed they are forces to reckon with, especially the women.
Orji hinted that he had followed the track record of Nwogwugwu as a journalist and insisted that she is a rare gem and a seasoned professional to the core.
For Nwosu, Orji remarked that he was an authority in the field of journalism, adding that Nwosu had become a reference point in the industry.
He charged them to remain committed in their new assignments as they are not only serving THISDAY, but Abia State and Nigeria in general.
Orji said he was of the belief that Nwogwugwu and Nwosu would live up to expectations in their new positions. The governor also hailed others promoted.
