Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, on Saturday expressed confidence that his party would be victorious in the governorship election.
Speaking at after voting at Owa Alero, Ward 2, Unit 3, Ika North East, said PDP was fully entrenched in Delta and that the state would repeat the feat it performed on March 28 for the party’s candidates, saying: “No shaking and no slaking.”
He expressed gratitude to PDP members from Delta South Senatorial district for the role they played during the last Presidential and National Assembly elections.
He said it was the efforts and commitment of PDP members in the district that gave the overwhelming result that the President got, charging them to double their efforts towards delivering the PDP Governorship and House of Assembly candidates come Saturday.
“First of all I want to thank all of you for the role you played during the Presidential election. Delta State played its part in the March 28 elections. Most of the votes came from Delta South Senatorial District. We are all proud members of the PDP. Once again, thank you for making us attain such victory.
“Unfortunately, we did not make it at the National level, but that should not disturb us as we are approaching another election in the next few hours. Let us work hard for us to smile at the end of the day,” Okowa said.
