Ogun State Government said on Monday in Abeokuta that it had recruited 725 new civil servants into the state public service under its Rapid Employment Generation Programme.
The Chairman of the state Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Aderonke Folarin, stated this during the induction course organised for the new civil servants.
Folarin also said the mass recruitment exercise had largely assisted in addressing the problem of shortage of staff in the civil service, especially in some critical areas.
She added, “There is no gainsaying the fact that the administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun is committed to the enhancement of the efficiency of the state Public Service and improvement of the lot of the state workers. This is evident in the prompt payment of workers’ salaries, allowances and other dues, as well as provision of the basic facilities required for efficient service delivery, notwithstanding the limited available resources.”
Folarin enjoined public servants in the state to reciprocate the kind gesture of the state government by showing an unwavering loyalty and total dedication to duty.
The state Head of Service, Mrs. Modupeola Adekunle, said the induction course was organised for the newly recruited civil servants in order to enhance their capacity and efficiency in the performance of their duty.
