About nine persons were feared killed while seven others received various degrees of injuries from gunshots by unknown gunmen Sunday night in Zango area ,a suburb of Bauchi Metropolis, in what looked like a renewed onslaught in the state.
Governor Isa Yuguda described the attack as an act of terrorism which his administration and other governments in the country are fighting hard to eradicate.
Also, seven people have been reportedly killed in a flood that affected seven communities of Zaki and Gamawa local government areas of Bauchi state.
Governor Yuguda condemned in strong terms the last Sunday evening attack on innocent people at the Zango area of Bauchi metropolis which claimed nine lives while a few others were seriously injured and are receiving treatment at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, (ATBUTH), Bauchi.
The latest killing by unknown gunmen in Zango area, one of the flash point in the state capital which has witnessed several ethno- religious and communal clashes in recent years has created anxiety, apprehension and fear among residents of Bauchi town.
Following the incident, there was pandemonium as residents scampered for safety as a result of the sporadic gun fire
In his reaction, Governor Yuguda who described the assailants as terrorists assured that government will do everything humanly possible to track them down and bring them to book.
