The Nasarawa State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) has suspended its 19-day old strike.
This came after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government.
Speaking with reporters in Lafia on Monday, chairman of the union, Mr. Titi Jata, said the suspension of the strike was due to the commitment shown by the state government.
Mr Jatau said: “We have signed an agreement with the state government because we see that the governor is favourably disposed to our demand. So the EXCO of NUT decided that the best thing to do at this juncture is to go back to the classrooms to teach our students.”
