Super Eagles coach, Lars Lagerback will reap bountifully in his new position as Nigeria’s manager to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, more than what he got as Sweden’s coach.

Complete Sports was reliably told by sources in Sweden that the 61 year-old manager earned an income of about 2.4 million Swedish Krona in 2008 which is equal to $325,000.

The previous year, his annual income was $1.6 million Swedish Krona, or $225,000.

Interestingly, he will earn much more than all that working for just five months (renewable) in Nigeria.

Lagerback, a proud owner of vast lands in the north of Sweden and a firm beleiver in payment of taxes, the source revealed, paid almost 1.4 million Krona (190,000 us dollar) in 2008 of his total income of $2.4 million Krona in taxes (58% in taxes).

However, the easy-going coach will cash his first pay cheque working in Nigeria a happier man.

The Presidential Task Force, an ad-hoc committee set up by ailing Nigeria’s
President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua is set to shell out $1.3 million (through NFF) as the lump sum of Lagerback’s salaries for the period of time he will work in Nigeria.
