NON-PLAYING Super Eagles regulars risk expulsion from the national team following the words  of Lars Lagerback, Nigeria’s Technical Adviser, as he left the country on Thursday night.

The Swedish coach on Thursday returned to his native country and when asked by journalists if he would use the opportunity of his journey back home to monitor Nigerian players in Europe, he said:

”I have said it several times that I know most of the players and those who play regularly will have the chance of playing at the World Cup.

There are players who are supposed to be in the national team who are not there and there are those who are there who need to acquire necessary fitness to make the World Cup,” explained Lagerback.

Saturday Tribunesports reports that most of Nigeria’s regulars at the 2010 Africa Nations Cup find it difficult to make the starting line up of their teams.

In the English Premiership, Super Eagles’ captain, Nwankwo Kanu and his assistant, Yobo Joseph do not command regular slots at Portsmouth and Everton respectively.

Yakubu Aiyegbeni, also of Everton, is mostly introduced in the last quarter of Toffees’ games while Danny Shittu, continues to sit out Bolton’s games.

Monaco of France  has just released midfielder Sanni Kaita and Obafemi Martins is yet to taste action under the new coach of German Bundesliga side, Wolfsburg.
