Ndi-Obi who spoke during a civic reception organized in his honour by the leaders of Awka, his home town, noted that if Jonathan had not conceded defeat, the story would have been different in the country and in the entire Africa.
According to him, “By that singular act, former President Goodluck Jonathan has emerged the most political figure in this continent and we pray that God will continue to keep him and give him the wisdom to continue to work for mankind.”
Ndi-Obi recalled that he was not in the camp of President Jonathan before the primaries of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) in 2010 as he (Obi) was supporting General Gusau for the presidential ticket, but that once Jonathan emerged the flag bearer of the party, everybody worked together for the success of the PDP presidential candidate.
According to him, despite his initial opposition to his candidature, Jonathan picked him as his special adviser and gave him the national honour of the Commander of the Order of Niger (CON).
Ndi-Obi also prayed that God would give President Muhammadu Buhari the wisdom to govern the country well, adding that he has all it takes to make Nigeria great.
