SUPER Eagles’ captain, Nwankwo Kanu, says he is unshaken by the change in the national team technical crew, adding that he will be among the players for the World Cup.

”I am happy to have met Lars Laggerback and discussed way forward with him.

“He told me he wishes to ring changes in the team but I am confident that I am still relevant to the plans and I am sure I will be at the World Cup,” Kanu told sportswriters in Abuja.

It is feared Lagerback will give younger players more slots at the Mundial but Kanu insists that there are times players like him will be useful.

”At the World Cup, veterans have their place. We remember Roger Milla playing for Cameroun at age 38 at Italia ’90. He came back four years after at USA’94  and scored a goal, so I have no fear,” said Kanu.

Kanu, Sunday Tribunesports reports, has attended two World Cup finals France 98 and South Korea- Japan 2002.

In recent internationals, Kanu has not been able to tie down starting line up shirt with the Super Eagles. In fact, he has yet to score for Nigeria in the last two years due to lack of playing time.
