THE Nigeria ambassador to Netherlands, Dr. Mrs. Nimota Akanbi has advised Nigerians to eschew violence and engage in more creative work that could move this nation forward.

She said: Nigerians need to face the reality of life and start repositioning this country well in the committee of nations.

Speaking at a business conference organized by the Netherlands-African Business Council for Nigerian companies during the week, Akanbi said: this nation is blessed with many resources that could fetch her a greater fortune in the world if properly explored.

“We all need to come together and reposition this country well in the outside world”.

Stating that many Nigerians are not helping in boosting the nation’s image with what they say of the country, Akanbi disclosed that the relationship between Nigeria and Netherlands has been boosted through much image making.

This is what has encouraged the Dutch Trade mission to come to Nigeria with a view to boost the nation’s Construction sector through partnership.

She continued: “one of the participants from Netherlands has indicated interest in business of turning our sea waste to gold”.

Also speaking at the event is the Managing Director, NABC Mr. Bob Van der Bijl says the purpose of the mission is to strengthen the economic relations between Africa and Netherlands.

He explained that the mission would contribute to a different perception of Nigeria in the Netherlands and much more attention for the opportunities in Nigeria is very much justified.

Arguing that business relationships and entrepreneurship are key further development of Africa; he said government plays a very important facilitating role in nation building.

He however appreciated the gesture the organization has received from Nigerian embassy in the Hague and the Netherlands embassy in Abuja.

“NABC is set to open up Nigerian companies to many opportunities in construction sector and possibly partner to build low housing estates for the people”.
