The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has debunked claims in the social media that the Managing Director of Capital Oil & Gas Industries Limited, Mr. Ifeanyi Uba, had been arrested by the police.
The EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, when contacted told Daily Independent that there was nothing like that and urged the public to disregard the claim.
The report claimed that the Police Special Fraud Unit arrested him for alleged involvement of his firm in a N22.4 billion kerosene subsidy fraud.
Also the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) of which Uba is a chieftain has urged the public to ignore the rumour, saying it was the handiwork of mischief makers.
Uba had few days ago addressed a press conference in Lagos in which he claimed that his life was in danger for supporting President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
