The Arise Magazine Fashion Week 2012 finally kicked off its runway show Thursday with 15 creative designers and over 20 models strutting their stuff in the GTB fashion tent.

Though the show did not start on a fast pace, the designer gave the patient and anticipated fashionistas a show they would not easily forget.


Kola Kuddus

First to hit the stage and officially open up the runway was creative designer Kola Kuddus from Nigeria. His collection which was called “Urban Africanus” was a array of modern traditional men’s outfit which were highlighted with clean and pristine embroidery. Up next was Keveke from Kenya, Jini Collection (Nigeria), Femi Bags (Nigeria), Toju Foyeh (Nigeria), Loza Maleombho, Meena whose designs were absolutely brilliant. Her collection received a loud applause from the crowd.

The innovation and creativity displayed by the various designers on the runway were mixed with elegance, urban themes, and Afro print. This can be said of Femi handbags, Toju Foyeh and Meena; their various collections were rooted in themes of young and sexy, urban flavour and Urban Afro.
