Civil rights activist and senator-elect, Shehu Sani, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan should take the recommendations of the National Conference with him when he leaves Aso Villa, Abuja, on May 29.
Sani, representing Kaduna Central on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who featured on Sahara TV on Saturday, said a party that did not hide its disapproval of the conference from the outset, said the recommendations of the National Conference “should be part of the load taken to (Jonathan’s) vehicle” when he leaves the presidential palace in Abuja.
He also noted that this was his opinion because he was not sure how the APC would handle the document.
Last year, the Jonathan administration convened the National Conference, at an estimated cost of N13 billion, to find solutions to various problems of the Nigerian state.
The conference ended with wide ranging recommendations, including the creation of more states.
“My personal opinion is, when Jonathan is leaving the villa, he should not forget to take the recommendations of that conference,” Sani said at the weekend.
