By SerikiAdinoyi
The attack was however repelled by men of the military Special Task Force (STF) on Jos crisis, who responded promptly.
Although no life was lost in the attack, before the arrival of the STF, two Berom youths, who are currently recuperating at Vom Christian Hospital, had been shot by the attackers.
Also, while trying to repel the attackers, a stray bullet either from the Soldiers or the herdsmen hit and killed a Berom youth.
The victim of the stray bullet, Mr. BulusDakumbi has been buried by family.
THISDAY gathered that the Fulanis were angered by the arrest of their leaders by security agencies last Tuesday and have vowed to continue to attack the Beroms until their leaders are released.
The state’s Commissioner for Information YiljabAbraham, had addressed newsmen after an emergency security meeting last Wednesday, where he disclosed that three community leaders in Riyom and BarkinLadi were arrested by the STF for questioning over continuous violence in their domain.
It was gathered that two of the community leaders currently facing interrogation at the STF headquarters, Jos are of the Fulani extract in Riyom, which is the reason for the rage.
National Secretary of Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, AlhajiSalehBayeri said: “I know two Fulani leaders ArdoBachit and ArdoRiyom were arrested. They were charged to court and they have been released on bail. I know also that Fulani youths threatened to protest if their leaders are not released as at Thursday.
