ALL things being equal, governors and governors-elect on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are set to meet with the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, at the Defence House, Abuja, today.
Information pieced together by the Nigerian Tribune indicated that the governors’ meeting with the president-elect was to afford them to present their position on the zoning formula arrangement, which is causing ripples within the party.
It was gathered that some of the governors were not really happy with the way and manner the zoning arrangement in the party were being handled.
The governors were said to have met in Abuja, on Monday, to harmonise their position before presenting same to the president elect.
Credible APC sources also told the Nigerian Tribune that the governors desired to be allowed to submit names of ministers from their state and would also want to have input in the emergence of leadership of the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that the list for ministerial slots is already being submitted, as three names from each states are expected to be submitted.
The meeting would be the first to be attended by the governors jointly since the March 28 presidential election.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State is the chairman of the progressive governors.
