THE All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) yesterday protested what it termed use of double candidates by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to prosecute the repeat Anambra South senatorial election fixed for March 17.
Arguing that the development negates the spirit of the 2011 Electoral Act which empowers parties to field a candidate for any election, APGA called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to either stop the PDP from participating in the election or name the candidate being put forward for the polls.
National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh told journalists in Enugu, that the PDP had submitted names of Dr. Andy Uba and Chief Nicholas Ukachukwu for the repeat polls, adding that the two candidates were not only campaigning vigorously in the zone but had their posters on every part of the constituency.
