Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has asked residents of Ilaro and Yewaland to embrace peace and cooperate with their new monarch.
Amosun made this statement at the coronation of Kehinde Olugbenle as the new Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland.
He tasked Olugbenle to stay focused on accelerating the pace of socio-economic development of Yewaland.
Amosun said, “Ilaro town and Yewaland should embrace peace and cooperate with the new kabiyesi so that the community will continue on path of progress and development.
“The oba should mobilise the people in such a way that their effort will complement the initiatives of the state government.”
However, Chief Kayode Odunaro, a native of the town, said the ongoing project was significant to the economy of the community.
He stated that the importance of good and commensurate road network cannot be overemphasised in the economic development agenda of any area for the movement of goods and people engaged in economic activities.
