Kwara state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, who is visitor to the Kwara State University (KWASU) may have forced the vice chancellor of the university, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, to rescind his earlier decision to suspend the six lecturers of the university with immediate effect.
The management of KWASU, Malete, had suspended six lecturers of the institution for an alleged act of gross misconduct.
But protem chairman of the Academic Staff Union of KWASU, Malete branch, Dr. Dauda Adeshola, described his suspension and that of five other members of the branch ASUU as shocking, uncalled for and unlawful and a travesty of justice.
Since then, tongues had continued to wag in the institution and this led the state governor and visitor of the university, Alhaji Ahmed to call a peace meeting where the issue was discussed and resolved.
