He recognised the press as a critical partner in nation building and urged that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration be given the benefit of doubt to implement the change he promised Nigerians.
Adesina explained his passion for supporting the call for change, saying he felt the country needed to chart a new course.
The immediate past Managing Director of The Sun Newspapers and President, Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), promised to work harmoniously with the press corps, saying he would be available for clarifications on any matter concerning the operations of the government as well as make the work environment conducive for the corps.
Adesina also promised to restore the accreditation of the German radio station, Deutsche Welle’s correspondent attached to Aso Villa, Ubale Musa.
Musa’s accreditation was withdrawn by former president, Goodluck Jonathan’s Chief Security Officer for asking the Chadian President, Idriss Deby a question considered offensive.
