Senator-elect of Niger East Senatorial candidate, Barrister David Umaru has stated that the result of Saturday’s election was a reflection of the political tsunamis sweeping across the country and a time for reckoning for those who have taken the people for granted all these years.
According to Umaru, who made this known while addressing journalists in Minna on Tuesday, there will be no more opportunity for any political party to continue to steal the people’s mandate, adding that it was reckless for the Governor to think he could continue to impose himself on the people.
“It is true that our people are suffering but they cannot be fooled by the peanuts and crumbs from the man who has inflicted untold hardship on them. The people of Niger East have delivered their verdict at the polls, I hope that Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu understands that this political tsunami signals the end of his political career.
“I will not hesitate to tell you that this administration is the worst in the history of the state since its creation in 1976. It has been characterized by ineptitude, incompetence, corruption and misappropriation of public funds and very high level of impunity.
“The people of the state in general and Niger East in particular have come to understand that the government of the day is decietful and eloquently clueless. The only solution is change and the change has come.”
